Jack and Jill Day

Each September chapters of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. from across the nation host Jack and Jill Day celebrations. Jack and Jill Day began in 1948 under the direction of Dorothy Wright, the first National President of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. The vision was that this day would be a family round-up time. Chapters are required to have a family activity that brings all of the membership together after the summer break. It is a time to also invite families that are interested in joining the organization. Jack and Jill Day focuses on two program thrusts - social and recreational. Many chapters, however, have also incorporated a cultural/heritage thrust as part of the day. Overall, the purpose of Jack and Jill Day is to promote membership growth and camaraderie.
